AI Visibility Scorecard
patternly.design · Other
Borderline visible. AI bots can crawl Patternly by Luca-S, but the structured-data signals are thin - you are at real risk of being skipped when buyers ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity for a recommendation.

from our crawl and measurement
"Design stitch by stitch with layers and selections, convert any photo, match colours across five thread brands, and track your stitching on real kit charts, all in one place." That is how Patternly by Luca-S Pattern Editor introduces itself. To AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity, though, it is barely visible: it scores 3.5 out of 10.
Our crawl found a readable heading structure. It is missing structured data describing the business, an llms.txt file and a sitemap.

Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini - can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Roughly two-thirds of sites are invisible to them. At 3.5/10, Patternly by Luca-S is crawlable but under-signaled - fixable, and the signals above are where to start.
What does fabric count mean?
The "count" is how many stitches fit in one inch of fabric. A 100-stitch-wide design on 14-count fabric comes out about 7.1" wide; the same design on 18-count shrinks to about 5.6" — smaller stitches, same chart. Higher counts give finer detail but demand more precision and better lighting.
What is a realistic stitching speed?
Most stitchers settle between 100 and 160 stitches per hour at a comfortable pace. Beginners typically start around 60–80 while building muscle memory for counting and tension, and experienced stitchers using a stand and railroading techniques can sustain 250+. Burst speeds of 350–400 happen on big single-colour blocks, but they never survive contact with a real chart full of colour changes.
Why do projects always take longer than estimated?
Naive estimates divide stitch count by speed and stop there — that only measures needle-in-fabric time. Real projects include thread changes (30–60 seconds each, hundreds of times), chart-checking, breaks, and the occasional frogging session. That overhead typically adds 30–50% to a project, which is why this calculator applies a multiplier (×1.4 by default) instead of pretending it away.
How to stitch faster?
Use a stand. Freeing both hands is the single biggest speed upgrade most stitchers ever make. Fix your lighting — a daylight LED lamp makes counting faster and colours easier to tell apart.
How long should I cut my thread?
The classic answer is 18 inches (45 cm) — fingertips to elbow. Shorter lengths tangle less and stay fresher; longer lengths thin and fuzz as they pass through the fabric dozens of times. Go shorter for metallics and dark colours on light fabric. If you use the loop-start method, cut double (36") and fold — it only works with even strand counts.
