Free AI visibility score
Get your free AI visibility score in seconds and see exactly how well ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Meta AI can find and describe your business, plus what to fix.
An AI visibility score is a single 0 to 10 rating of how visible your business is to AI answer engines. When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Meta AI about a company or a service, those engines decide who to mention based on signals on your website and references to you across the web. The score measures both halves and tells you where you stand.
It is the AI-era equivalent of an SEO audit: instead of asking whether Google ranks you, it asks whether AI can find you, trust you, and describe you correctly. Engagemii also calls it an AEO score, after Answer Engine Optimization, the work of raising it. Same number, two names.
The number is not a guess about one prompt on one day. Every company in the Engagemii index, 66M+ of them, carries the same score, measured the same way, so a 6 in plumbing means the same thing as a 6 in software, and you can see exactly where you rank in your industry.
Enter a website and you land on its scorecard. Here is HubSpot's, scored live on September 30, 2026: an 8.2 out of 10, second of 2.7 million technology companies in the index, with the parts of the score and the AI engines that have read the site.

Under the scorecard, the breakdown lists every part of the score as found or missing, so the next step is never a mystery. A company with strong authority but no structured data sees exactly that. A company with perfect markup and no references sees that instead.

Twelve signals, six on your own site and six across the rest of the web. The on-page half decides whether an engine can read and understand you at all. The off-page half decides whether it has a reason to name you over the other companies it read.
Most companies score low, and that is the point of checking. Across the whole Engagemii index the average is 3.3 out of 10, and only 2% of companies reach 6. The companies AI engines actually name look very different.

average score, recommended brands vs the whole index
Measured on 2026-09-26 across 66.5 million scored companies and every brand ChatGPT recommended for a set of real, unbranded questions. The pattern holds inside the recommended group too: brands named once average 6.3, brands named repeatedly average 6.7. Read the full study on the research page.
So the practical bands: under 4, AI engines cannot reliably tell who you are. 4 to 6, they can read you but have little reason to prefer you. 6 and above, you look like the companies that get named. 8 and above is rare: HubSpot, Shopify, Zendesk, Calendly and Twilio sit there, and you can see the full top of the index in the free Top 250,000 list.
Most AI visibility tools work one way: you type in prompts, the tool asks ChatGPT and the others, and it reports whether your brand came up. That is useful, and it is what the paid platforms from Semrush, Ahrefs and the AI-visibility startups sell by subscription. It answers "did I show up for these prompts today".
Engagemii answers a different question first: "why would I show up at all". The score is built from the signals the engines read, not from a sample of prompts, and it already exists for 66M+ companies, so you get your number, your parts and your industry rank in seconds instead of setting up a tracking project. Then, if you want the prompt view as well, the paid tracking on a claimed page checks whether the engines name you and alerts you when that changes.

Read the parts, not just the number
The scorecard splits the score into on-page and off-page parts. A 4 with strong off-page authority and weak structured data is a one-week fix. A 4 with the reverse is a six-month project. Same number, different plan.
Get the free fix kit
For your own brand, Engagemii writes the fix files from your site: JSON-LD, an llms.txt file, a robots.txt patch and a PDF audit. One click to verify the email, and it is in your inbox. Free, no card.
Deploy and re-check
Put the files up, wait for the next crawl, and run the check again. The score moves when the engines can read the change. Most of the on-page part moves inside a few weeks.
Claim your page and watch the reads
Every scored company has a page in the index. Claim yours and you see which AI engines read your site and how often, plus alerts when the score moves.
Check your competitors
The checker works on any website, not only yours. Score the three companies AI names instead of you and read their parts. The gap is usually two or three specific signals.
Business owners check because a customer said "ChatGPT told me about your competitor". The score shows whether the engine could even read them, and the fix kit closes the gap without touching how the site looks.
Marketers and SEO teams check because AI answers now sit above the blue links and the old rank report says nothing about them. The score gives them one number to report and twelve parts to work on, and the industry rank gives them a benchmark that is not a guess.
Agencies check every client and every prospect, because a 3 with a clear list of missing parts is the easiest AEO engagement to sell and the easiest to prove. The same score is available for 66M+ companies through the data portal, with the parts, the AI crawler reads and the industry, for prospecting at scale.
Investors and analysts check whole industries, because AI visibility is now a distribution channel and the index is the only place it is measured the same way for every company.
What is an AI visibility score?
An AI visibility score is a 0 to 10 rating of how well AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Meta AI can find, read and cite a company's website. It combines on-page signals on the site itself with off-page authority from the rest of the web. Engagemii calls the same number an AEO score, after Answer Engine Optimization, the practice of raising it.
Is the AI visibility checker really free?
Yes, and so is everything else for your own brand: the score, the parts of the score, the Customized Fix Kit written from your site (JSON-LD, llms.txt, a robots.txt patch and a PDF audit, emailed after a one-click verification), and the claimed page that shows which AI engines read your site. No signup to check a score, no card for any of it.
How do I check if AI can find my business?
Enter your website above. Engagemii runs a live check against the signals AI answer engines rely on, then returns your score, the parts of the score and the specific gaps. It is the fastest way to see whether ChatGPT and the other engines can find, trust and describe your business.
Which AI engines does the score cover?
The score reflects visibility across the major AI answer engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Meta AI, plus the AI answers now appearing in Google and Bing. Engagemii also records which of these engines actually read each scored site, and how often.
What is a good AI visibility score?
Across the 66M+ companies in the Engagemii index the average is 3.3, and only 2% score 6 or higher. Brands that ChatGPT recommended for real, unbranded questions average 6.4, and 74% of them score 6 or higher. Six is the line where a company starts looking like the ones AI names; eight and above is rare.
Does a high score mean ChatGPT will recommend me?
No score can promise a citation; AI engines choose sources differently for every question and change how they choose. What the score measures is how much you look like the companies that do get named. Brands ChatGPT recommends are 37 times more likely to score 6 or higher than the index as a whole, and the more often a brand is recommended, the higher its average score.
Can I check a competitor's AI visibility?
Yes. The checker works on any website. Every scored company also has a public page in the index with its score, the parts of the score and its rank in its industry, so you can compare yourself with the companies AI names instead of you.
How often is the score updated?
Every company in the index is re-scored on a rolling basis, and the free checker scores a site live when you enter it. A claimed page shows the score history and alerts you when it moves.
What do I do with a low score?
A low score means AI engines cannot easily find or trust your business yet. The scorecard shows which parts are missing. For your own brand the free fix kit delivers the structured data, the llms.txt file and the robots.txt patch written for your domain; deploy them and re-check.
