Borderline visible. AI bots can crawl Based Theft Auto, but the structured-data signals are thin - you are at real risk of being skipped when buyers ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity for a recommendation.

from our crawl and measurement
Based Theft Auto is a business whose own site puts it this way: "A modest proposal for a cops vs robbers indie game project, set in an open city." When AI engines look at it, they find little to work with. It scores 3.5 out of 10.
Our crawl found a readable heading structure. It is missing structured data describing the business, an llms.txt file and a sitemap.
AI crawlers have visited once in our tracking, including ClaudeBot (Anthropic).

Your AEO score measures whether AI search engines - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini - can actually read your site and cite it in answers. Roughly two-thirds of sites are invisible to them. At 3.5/10, Based Theft Auto is crawlable but under-signaled - fixable, and the signals above are where to start.
What is this?
A modest proposal for a cops vs robbers indie game project, set in an open city. The idea is to start with a relatively simple 3D car chase game, then add multiplayer if enough people are interested. If that does well, we plan to move on to story-based singleplayer and co-op missions.
Why make it?
The games industry lost its way, churning out woke corporate slop that costs way too much and turns to dust in our hands as the industry tries to wrestle away ownership of our games. We aim to flip the table on this trend by making a fun little game for normal people to enjoy, at a reasonable price, with safeguards in place to ensure it's playable forever by whatever community it happens to attract.
How will you make it?
The plan is to start small, gauge interest, make a playable prototype, gather support via crowdfunding, then expand the features if that goes well. The scope might sound a little big, but we plan to limit the environment to a relatively small area at first, limit the assets to more basic models and textures, focusing efforts on making the core gameplay loop as fun as possible.
Where will it release?
The plan is to self-publish on PC via direct download, with multiplayer open to everyone worldwide. If there's enough interest we might try a Steam release but since corporate platforms probably won't like some of the humor we'd like to include, don't hold your breath for it.
When will it release?
We already have the city partially mapped out, have many of the art assets created and are working on a basic but functional gameplay prototype. We hope to get a small playable prototype out before the end of 2026, but it really depends on how much interest and support there is.
